House Blessing
After the Divine Liturgy in the Eyre Chapel on Sunday, 25 November, many of the congregation came to the bungalow where Fr Edwin and Mary's daughter, Frances, is now in independent living with a friend, Jonathan, and carers. After the Blessing of the bungalow, which was shared with Fr Terry Doherty, Jonathan's Roman Catholic priest, we all enjoyed a meal. Here Frances and Jonathan are holding the cake specially baked by Frances Thompson to celebrate the special day.
Father Kyril finally receives his Farewell present.
The floods in July caused road and rail closures which prevented Fr Kyril from attending his farewell presentation in Sheffield.
On Saturday, Nov 3rd. Fr Kyril served the liturgy in Sheffield cathedral crypt for the joint communities of St Cuthbert and The Entry of the Mother of God.
It was a very joyful occasion with much warmth and respect shown towards Fr Kyril.

He was presented with a pectoral
cross from the Entry of the Mother of God community which used to meet in St Matthews,
Sheffield but is now united with the St Cuthbert's community.

Thank you Fr Kyril for everything you have done over the years.
Unusual Shopping in Athens!
Until very recently the Community of St Cuthbert did not possess any wedding crowns, so if any were needed they had to be borrowed. The situation has now been remedied:

The crowns were carried home in hand luggage and caused interest when being screened at airport security. The carrier was asked,'Are you a princess?'
Rendez-vous in Athens - Sept 19 2007
When Stavroula was studying for her master's degree in Sheffield in around 1999 she was a most loyal and lively member of the Sheffield community of the Entry of the Mother of God. She is now working in Athens in the town planning department but did have opportunity to work as a steward at the Olympic Games.

Sept. 2007 Pilgrimage to Lastingham, North Yorkshire
In the village of Lastingham in the mid 7th century, a Celtic monastery was founded by St Cedd of Lindisfarne. The Sept 2007 pilgrimage was organised by Fr George and Fr Dennis of the Antiochian Parish of Edlington and was supported by three members of our own parish.
Fr Alastair Ferguson (who very kindly gave permission for use of the church) and his wife Denise in conversation with Dn Ian and his wife Frances after the Liturgy
1 September The icon of Saint Cuthbert and the icon of the Entry of the Mother of God sit side by side on the central analogion, a happy sign of the amalgamation of our two communities in Sheffield.
